Hey there, my name is Rudy Rodriguez, and I’m excited to share some awesome takeaways with you today! Recently, I went on an incredible adventure at a relationship retreat led by a remarkable woman named Alison Armstrong. But before we dive into that, let me give you a little sneak peek into my personal life.
I’m the host of The High Profit Event Show, where I help event leaders like you make double or triple the sales by using a proprietary event enrollment process. On the personal side, I’ve recently moved to Los Cabos, Mexico. It’s a breathtaking place, and my girlfriend has been living here for a long time. If you ever find yourself in Los Cabos or planning a trip to Puerto Rico, where I also have a residency, I’d love to meet up and show you around!
Okay, now let’s get back to the relationship retreat. Alison Armstrong is the genius behind The Queen’s Code and Understanding Men, Understanding Women. I found out about her through my Platinum Partnership Mastermind group with Tony Robbins. Before attending the retreat, I thought I knew a thing or two about relationships. I had read books on talking to girls, but understanding the dynamics of a successful partnership was a whole different ball game.
The retreat took place at a ranch just outside Edmonton, Canada. Picture this: four days, eight to ten hours each day, working with beautiful horses and learning the principles of partnership. It wasn’t just about words; it was about body language, gestures, and energy. Horses have taught me that only 7% of what we communicate is through words. The rest is tonality and physiology, and these majestic creatures can pick up on all of that!
During the retreat, I discovered blind spots I didn’t even know existed. Here’s an example: my girlfriend wanted us to attend a family member’s wedding a few hours away. Instead of understanding her request, my immediate reaction was to fix everything—transportation, hotels, costs—without realizing it might not be what she wanted. It was a great learning moment for both of us. I realized that being the provider and protector is important, but it shouldn’t always be the default.
You know what’s easy? Being happy and having fun in the first few months of a relationship. But as time goes on, it’s crucial to put in the work. And that’s where Alison Armstrong’s wisdom truly shines. I highly recommend checking out her book, Queens Code, and her upcoming event in Los Angeles. I’ll be there, and if you’re interested, we can connect!
Oh, and guess what? I had the opportunity to interview Alison on my podcast. If you’re an event leader or simply curious about how she runs events, you should definitely check out the full interview. It’s packed with valuable insights!
I hope you enjoyed this glimpse into my personal life and the incredible experience I had at the relationship retreat. If you’re ever in Cabo or Puerto Rico, don’t hesitate to reach out.
